Great Days organisers are excited by the prospect of the pooling of resources and know-how with the
other organisations involved. These include Ribble Valley Rail, the Clitheroe Beer Festival, New Form
Arts and Clitheroe the Future and local authorities. The Great Days' contribution to the weekend
begins on Friday 18th May when East Yorkshire dance outfit Mambo Jambo open up for 7-piece
Cuban band Asere at the St Mary's Centre. Asere make an eagerly anticipated return to Clitheroe after
wow-ing 2004's Great Days audience. There will be a chance to sample some of the real ales which will
be on offer at the Centre during the Beer Festival over the rest of the weekend.
with special guestsIn keeping with past Great Days weekends, a wide variety of guest performers will be in evidence.
The bandstand rather than Castle Street will be the focus for their activities: Saturday sees the return
of festival favourites, Blackburn People's Choir and of a jive dance display and workshop featuring the
Laverne Sisters. Clitheroe Town Band will kick off the summer season of bandstand concerts on
Sunday afternoon. As this publication goes to press, more acts are being added to the bill so watch
local press and visit the Great Days' website, www.great-days.co.uk, for further news.
