with classical son, Asere
are respectful of their musical forefathers and yet keen to step
into the future. In Asere, you find the son
tradition dressed up in baseball caps and trainers, an expression
of young urban Cuba , these musicians seek to develop their music
through their inventive song writing and arrangements, building
a fresh sound for a new generation. They make an eagerly anticipated
return to Clitheroe after wow-ing 2004’s Great Days audience.

MAMBO JAMBO
Musical
explorers and multi-instrumentalists MAMBO JAMBO ,
alias Pete Jack and Frankie Banham, have been serving up hot sounds
from around the world for over ten years, using all acoustic ingredients
and freely mixing their own compositions with elements and sounds
from Latin America, Africa, the Caribbean, Brazil, bluegrass and
eastern European music. Prepare for a whistle stop tour of the musical
world, taking in Cuba ,
Congo , Kentucky
and a lot more besides.

FREE – STUFF on the weekend
The
bandstand rather than Castle Street
will be a focus for outdoor entertainment over the weekend - Saturday
sees the return of festival favourites, the Blackburn People's Choir
and a jive dance display and workshop featuring the Laverne Sisters.
Clitheroe
Town Band will kick off the summer season of popular bandstand concerts
on Sunday afternoon.
